Mixin' and a Matchin'

Lately I've been mixing and match different types of patterns, colors and fabrics together for different outfits. Everyday there is something new instead of the same old outfits.

Combination that I think for wonderfully.
1. Jersey/cotton T-shirt material and demin
2. Chiffon and demin
3. Gold/metallic and chiffon
4. Simple/plain one color and pattern

The current look I'm wearing as of this very breathing moment is...

A pin-striped black&white collar shirt with an open deep nautical blue cardigan. I pushed up the sleeves 3/4th up since it is summer and its kinda crazy to be wearing a cardigan.
Wearing some slender skinny jeans with yellow stitching to give it some flare and of course my Vans camryn grey gum shoes. To help finish the look, I went with a straight white watch and a deep blue shimmering nail polish.

As for my hair, rocker ponytail with a puff, swirling my pink hair in there. Yep! Oh summer! :D

Sorry that I am unable to post photos, mostly because of the bad quality and I'm at my brother's shop helping out right now. Thought I drop in to let everyone know about the current style situation.

Keepin' Cool

Summer's hot rays have struck us all! With the UV attacking our skin its sometimes hard to maintain that sun-kissed glow. Instead we're burnt to a crisp! So to keep our skin healthy and happy, is a simple recipe!

Icy cool cucumbers just scream summer! If you have a busy schedule, you still have time for this!
Thinly slice one cucumber. If you're in a huge rush, you can buy pre-cut cucumber from your super market. Then place it in a bowl of water or green tea, whichever you prefer (green tea, it helps revive any sun damage to your skin. Water, will just keep your skin feeling fresh!) and place the bowl into the fridge. I choose to leave the bowl in the fridge all day and use this remedy during the night. If not, leave it in the freezer for about 20-25 minutes, you don't want it to turn to ice.

Cleanse your skin and pat it dry. If very important to start with a clean palette! There's no point to working on dirty.

Take out the soaked cucumbers and place it on your face, or anywhere on your body actually.
Leave it on for about 20 minutes or until you feel the cucumbers lose its cool. :)

Rinse with water and then moisturize!

Workin' On It!

Hahaha believe it or not! I'm working...while dabbing in a little Facebook. Whoops, anyway, this tutorial will be up soon! I'm just waiting for the program to export the file so I can upload it onto Youtube!

I hit a stump a few days ago, wondering what design should I make, but then it hit me. Why not feature...Pixar's newest creation, Brave. :)

Product Love Story: Sugar Coat

Give me that sugar!

Now the only thing I use for lip moisture is good ole vaseline. I'm very picky about chap sticks, lipsticks and lip gloss. One, high standards and two, its just hard to find the right one! (T^T) Some are just too chunky and stick to your lips like glue. While others completely change your lip color and clash with your skin tone.

However, Sugar's Rose and Fresh tinted lip treatments are amazing! I can't believe I haven't used their products long ago! The Rose gives it a nice tint, just a hint of sun-kiss pink! The Fresh leaves your lips plain happy! Best part is the no-stick.

Eating, drinking and chit-chatting leaves no clues behind! The best part, sugar sweet. :)

Missing In Action!

Appune is M.I.A.

Sorry for disappearing for a couple of days!
I've been a little tied up with taking care of my nephew on Friday and Saturday and then surprising him for his birthday on Sunday! Just to let you know, he turned five. ahaha such a good age to be a kid.

Anyways, best thing besides spending a lot of time with my nephew is... I watched Brave! And it is so wonderful! Such a good mother-daughter movie. I wanted to cry my eyes out, but had to keep it together for my nephew and younger cousins. Plus, I couldn't be a blubbering mess while driving back.

However, I do have to say that the La Luna short before the movie is absolutely stunning. Pixar, you've done it again!

Product Love Story: Goin' Bare

Mask. Unveiled.
Brushes. Brush out.
Waterproof. So done.

Its time to rock what mother nature gave you and go bare.

From Bare Escentuals's Bare Mineral line, I introduce to you, my new lover, Vintage Peach mineral blush.

This blush is very easy to use. By using a blush brush or even your fingers, the power will spread evenly on your cheeks to give you that nice light flowery glow. The type of glow that I love :)

There are two plus sides, well actually three, to this product.

    1. If you like glitter like I do, the blush has a small amount of glitter/sparkles inside the power to really give you a pop during the day without over doing the look.
    2. Because its a powder form, I also sometimes use this as an eyeshadow. It helps toning down bright colors.
   3. Its a NATURAL glow, so it won't be obvious that you've applied a blush to your cheeks. So people and you yourself will notice you and not the makeup.

However! There is a downside. This blush is a little bit on the pricey side. It is about $17-$19 for this product, depending whether the price went up or not. But I personally do believe that it is worth it! Its really about how it makes you feel when you wear it. After putting on this baby, I just can't help but feel all giddy and happy that not only do I glitter and glow, but it really shows that I am happy!

Dear Diary,

Heyyyy!

I'm sorry I skipped a day~ Forgive me! I am in the middle of editing a video tutorial right now and I am loving this look! So excited for it to be finished!

Anyways, all I have to say so far is BEST. SUMMER. EVER. I've been busy but a good busy. Not only that but i also get to enjoy good quality time with my family.

To share, yesterday my sister(+BF), cousins and I went up to Six Flags, which I haven't been there in about 7 years. It is so awesome. I finally did the Skycoaster thing, where its an almost free fall from 150ft, but you're attached to a cord. It was so worth the butterflies in my stomach!
I will link you a video ^^

Next up, tomorrow actually, I'm going to an art show opening at the LACMA. I'm feeling very artsy fartsy and very excited, though I had to cancel other plans for this. However, this will be my first time going to an official artist's opening night. Time for some new experiences!

Sincerely,
Appune

Finger Actitivites: Getting Fishy

I absolutely love FISH. I just can't help it!
Fish, water, ocean, beach. Doesn't this just scream summer?

I am loving this nails too! So fun to wear, though it is just a little bit more difficult to coordinate with my clothes, Oh well! Worth the trouble!

P.S. a tip, because there was so much going on with my nails, I didn't want to overwhelm my hand with lots of jewelry and color so I went with something a little more organic colored, like brown ;)

Product Love Story: Seaweed Time

So yes, I'm using this photo again, but I am so in LOVE with this product! Scoot aside TokiDoki brushes, make way for wonderful long lasting lashes!

Ever since I bought this product, I have used it non-stop every single day! Best part is, I never have to reapply it.

The Skin Food Seaweed Mascara stays on all day and its waterproof too! And when I say waterproof I mean H2O-P-R-double O-F, proof. I wear this bad boy in the morning at 8:30 am when I'm applying my makeup before work and it's still on at 7:00pm when I get home! That's a total win. Another good thing about this is...no clumps!

The mascara goes on very finely, adding a pop to your eyes, but its "natural" looking.

It make be hard to find stores in your location so I'll link you below! You can choose which types of product best matches your skin! Yay

Finger Activities

How I'm going to rock my 4th of July.

With the patriotic colors, I decided to add a little shabam and pair the nail with the gold-spiked bracelet and a simple designed stretch ring on my middle finger. To check out how to do the nails, here's the tutorial! :)

Product Love Story: The First Time

That’s right it's the first time. The first time and its important to know that it's the one. After all, you don’t want to throw away cash on brushes that don’t do their job!

Believe it or not, spent about $35 dollars on my first set which include three brushes and approximately another forty on the new collection that came out, it almost completed the set. I still have a few brushes left to buy to complete the full set (a kabuki brush and a slanted foundation/blush brush), but ever since I bought it I haven’t had to replace any brushes yet!

I bought this set when I just got out of high school because thats when I started to wear more makeup. I didn’t really wear make up back in high school or middle school unless it was homecoming or prom. When I wore eyeshadow I learned to master the tiny little sponge brushes that came in the compact as well as learn to use my fingers, specifically my ring finger.

Now how did I know it was the time to buy brushes to use? Well it came down to this.

1.     Having better quality cosmetics
2.     Use for every single brush in the set
3.     Sufficient reason to wear more professional style makeup looks
4.     Reaching appropriate age for desired make-up style

That’s how just I knew.

It was those four points that pushed me to buy the TokiDoki brushes. Not only that, but I’ve been a fan of TokiDoki art since middle school. It’s always stuck to me, an everlasting love!

However, if you're a little cautious into jumping into this brushy relationship then perhaps you can start with less expensive brushes, just to learn how to use them. Usually, drugstores such as CVS Pharmacy has a really good beginner set for just $9.99, a travel set size. You will have use for it even if you buy another set. The quality of the brushes is average but it’s definitely not cheap.

Overall if you are a fan of TokiDoki then I do suggest this brush set, very much, but if are not really into your brushes having characters and charms all over them then I suggest a different brand. After the one for me may not be the one for you. Good Luck!

June Affairs

Today is the start of July and the end of my first love. But you know what? Goodbye luminizing black mask and hello Monthly Shopping!

Because its summer, I have more time to go to the mall and pick out items as well as develop a shopping list. During the school year, my only concern is school, work, art and food. It doesn't leave me too much time to explore my love options. Therefore, the heat of summer opens new doors.

Cathy Jeans-- Glitter Gold Flats
First off, shoes have been a huge deal in my life. I saw a pair of gold high heels at the mall, but as a university student, I didn't know how I would manage walking in 5-inch high heels across campus. I that's gotta be crazy. Luckily I found these gold glitter flats for $17.99 at Cathy Jeans.  What a sale from about $27, if I remember correctly. However I had to go to THREE stores just to find my size because I have large feet.

Women Vans
Next up are these Vans Camryn in a Heather/Gray Gum. These weren't exactly on my shopping list but I found these babies went I tagged along to the Topanga mall with my brother. He was actually shopping for his son and I saw these shoes on the rack. I checked the price online and it was $60 so it was a no-go for me. Then a few days later, I went back to the small and store to try on the shoe, hoping it would look bad so I could move on, only to find a tiny red and white sale tag on it! $39 I think yes! First off, I didn't have any "nice" sneaker to wear out when I'm not on campus. So I thought these were very suitable. I love love love the pattern and texture on the shoes as well as its slight high top composition. Also I think that the metal hooks had a little shabam to it!

Next up on the list is...

a three-row spiked bracelet.

This baby is made to look stylish and as well provide protection! A two in one deal for only, wait for it, $3.99. Yep that's right! It as at a local jewelry shop in my second hometown. I can't stop wearing this, but I have to or else it just looks like I'm repeating my outfits. ahahah.
Moving on, I finally bought sunglasses! Though I couldn't find the circle ones I wanted I really like these. They kind of wing out a little at the end so it really reminds me a Disney villain, something along those lines. By the way, I love Ursula, best villain of all times. The exact name of this is F6783 Retro Round Sunglasses in case you were wondering. Its from Forever21, and its really hard for me to actually buy something from that store. However, I got these in a heart beat. The first one I tried and I never let go.

Sorry, I'm still going on, but the month shopping list isn't over yet!

Here I got the Seaweed Waterproof Mascara from Skinfood. The mascara is I think $9 or $11. Hmm it is a korean brand and the store recently opened up in our local mall so I was very excited when I saw it. I haven't tested this yet, but will soon!

I'm also very intrigued by the product since it says its made from the actual natural ingredients such as seaweed and honey.

Underneath here is the Tea Tree Cleansing Foam I bought, also from Skinfood. Its about $17 and the Tea Tree is suppose to help with acne scars, breakouts and nourish the skin back to health, so I'm hoping this will work and help undo some of my middle school skin mistakes.

And then last, is the DIY Fringe skirt from Pacsun. I really wanted a short layered fringe skirt at first but it didn't suit me in reality. In my mind I imagined it a lot differently. Anyways I don't have a picture of it right now, but I'll update as soon as I take photos in it!

June, you are done baby!

Dear Diary,

Today is suppose to be "Taking a Break" section, but I decided to combine the two. Sometimes the best way to relax is just to be with your friends. After not seeing each other for about a year, we reunited yesterday. It is just amazing to be surrounded by people you found in life and come to love.

Though we all grow and walk different paths its not impossible to deviate just to make some time to for each other. Untwist all those tight knots and screws built up in your body and mind. Have a glass of that sugary drink, toast to the most bizarre event in your life or indulge in that guilty pleasure food; let loose with a  couple of friends!

Heheh sorry this sounds like lecture, to get more personal, after completing our first year of college, a couple of my high school friends and I met up just to celebrate that! We haven't seen each other for so long and I just really missed every one! We were just lounging around the house and talking about the present and catching up on every's lives. I also introduced a couple of my friends from college as well, hoping to integrate the old and new. I want them both in my life.

Not only that, it was also weird realizing how now, we're all growing up now. Driving around to place, getting jobs and actually having difficulty just trying to meet up for lunch. What life does to us.

Anyways, I'm also here babysitting my nephew and niece, so I guess it time to do more of my job!

Sincerely,

Appune
